Last weekend we tried a couple Pizza Hut pizzas to test if “nobody can out-pizza the hut”. These were our findings.
To trial Pizza Hut we took samples of their pepperoni and meat lovers bbq.
The first criteria was delivery. Unfortunately - it comes with great pain to declare it - they fell short on this criteria. The pizza arrived after over an hour. However, we have not tested reliability of their delivery time, thus we cannot critique Pizza Hut on this until further investigation.
However, the delivery "cyclist" was friendly thus making up for this undesirable delivery time.
Now.
Onto the pizza.
The bbq meatlovers. First impressions. Luke warm. Not a good start Pizza Hut. But this can be forgiven as bbq sauce was perfect. *Chef kiss*. I'm addition to this the meat was of good quality and quantity, making for a great rendition of the meat lovers pizza. However… the base… simply too doughy, taking away from the delicious toppings.
Therefore, the bbq meatlovers will have to receive a 7/10 - with some dough improvements and a faster delivery time I would happily increase this rating to a 9/10.
Next up. The pepperoni.
Due to the simplicity of this pizza, it is easy to get a good pepperoni pizza. However, it requires a certain magic to make a perfect pepperoni. From our findings… We were simply disappointed. The pizza, although a good balance of cheese and pepperoni was also lacking in it's base, being a doughy mess.
Therefore, the pepperoni will also have to receive a 7/10.
Although a controversial statement.. we believe that maybe some pizzarias may be able to out pizza the Hut, who has simply fallen from grace producing good, but not outstanding pizza .
However, personal experience may vary and pizza is always pizza.
